Tattoos

A Poem by Bethany Woody

Tactile photographs
across your skin, painted.
Telling of the life
that you have lived.
Obligingly I read the story.
Only instead of my eyes, I use my hands.
Savoring each and every word.

sensuous and inventive, your words are presented with a depth and security
that gives this poem credibility, seven lines that speak a volume, tattoo art
is fascinating, this poem is romantic as a poetic capture of the moment.
great work here, you have talent, keep it up :)

I love this, I like how you say seeing with your hands instead of your eyes, very well done. I like how you say reading a story in this piece, for many people a tattoo is a resemblance of something or someone in there life. Lol, altho some are also just a 'what the hell was i thinking' tattoo. I enjoyed reading this very much :)

Comma, after "obligingly", I think, but beyond that, it says a lot in few words. It's generic enough that most people could get something out of it, but specific enough that it would be more meaningful for people that have actually done it. I like the allusion to each picture actually "telling" the story, as I suppose people with meaningful tattoos would have their tatts do. Mine just sits there because it was free, haha. Good write.
