Love Is

Love begins as just four letters

Then develops into something better

That is when we begin to fall

Happiness growing tall after being so small

 

Love is the touch between two souls

Where honesty and trust are conquered goals

Helping one another to reach their dreams

Working together as one team

 

Love is accepting the differences

Realizing we’ve got our own preferences

Weaving together two unique hearts

Their flaws and strengths become cherished parts

 

Love is being cozy and secure

Showing a smile to reassure

Beauty surrounding a strong connection

Feelings of pure blissful affection

 

Love is a special, sacred place

Where lives come together and embrace

Love shouldn’t be defined as a noun

Because it takes action to keep that spark around

 

Love is picking you up when you’re down

Knowing what’s wrong without a single sound

Unafraid to show you their whole world

Faith that they’ll always keep their word

 

Love is waking up seeing them next to you

Making eye contact from a beautiful view

Messy hair and that morning breath

A kiss that shows you’re truly blessed

 

Love is a daily sacrifice

Making decisions you might not like

But when it’s all said and done

Being in love compares to none

I enjoyed this piece. You captured the beautiful parts of love. Also, you choice of words is amazing as well. It brings the reader in until there is nothing left to read. I just wrote a piece about love "Untitled" really didn't want to call it love. I really love this poem. It was absolutely beautiful. I was feeling a little under the weather over some writer's block, but after reading this, I feel really inspired.
