Help

Help

A Poem by R.M.C

Across the world

Cry the orphans of war;

Make a difference,

Don’t close your door.

Bullets of rain,

Bombs of thunder,

They’re taken before their time,

Destined to be six feet under,

Unless you open your heart

And help these desperate souls,

Who come begging, like skeletons,

With blood caking their soles

And lice in their hair.

Do you care?

Children of God,

Now victims of Satan,

In desperate need of an Angel,

Yet dying while they’re waiting.

Heart beats grow weak,

Breathing grows shallow,

They won’t survive the week...

In despair they wallow,

Life’s looking so bleak...

Every day, death they swallow.

What’s happened to them is so inhumane,

They’d be grateful if you came,

Offering life saving aid,

Whether it was money or grabbing a spade.

It’s horrendous, what’s been done

To these people and their land;

Time to swap your gun

For a hammer and offer a helping hand.
