Diamonds

Diamonds

A Poem by Journey

I step out into to the bitter cold and look upon the piercing beauty.
The stars in the sky have fallen to Earth,
Their brightness shines from below.
Moon beams reflecting off the snow.

A million diamonds are all around,
They mock my every memory.
A picture of perfection reminds me
Of the future I can barely see.

“If you can smile through the tears it must be worth it,”
Is the only thought that comes to mind
As the world fades and I drift away,
Wondering what I have done.

What have I done?
