Scratch No. 253

Scratch No. 253

A Poem by Rachell R. Taylor
"

Some scratches of ideas I found on my computer. These are about Dan, before we were dating, playing in the snow.

"

These things make me think of you.

Of white mornings and excuses hanging high above laughter that we drowned in.

Of those subtle looks, of that defaulted smile and racing hearts.

The use of my name made my spine curl, and this song is keeping pace with my heartbeat.

A desperate reach, a hope you’d stay a minute longer. Just look back.

The snow was falling and I was waiting.

That kiss that left us spinning, laughing, drowning in grateful sighs.
