NO WORDS MATCH MY GRATITUDE

NO WORDS MATCH MY GRATITUDE

There are no words to match my gratitude

I want to say how proud I am of you

That you have resisted injustice and aggression

Your sons have released you from the bonds of oppression

And they have liberated you from the hands of the despot

They will keep on fighting the war of liberation till the end

Until we are home free

It is something that I don’t know if I will see

May be I will be dead by then, who knows?

But it doesn’t matter to me

Because you will never die, our dearly beloved Libya

I believe that you will be free

Sooner or later, but it is not too far

It is sooner than it is expected by even the most optimistic person

I know that you have lost many of your sons. How sad!

But now is the time for joy and not for tears

You have paved the way for them to Paradise

We will never forget them

Those heroes who have made the supreme sacrifice

Who have given their lives to set you free

Free of the tyrant, of the criminals, free of the terrorists and to repel those invaders

It is something I didn’t know that I could do

But now we are ready to do anything for you

Anything to get rid of all those who destroyed you

Anything to see you the best country in the world

To see you shining again

All your sons and daughters will rebuild you

And change that red colour of blood that you were covered with

into crimson-red of roses and emerald green areas

So you are going to be our shining star

You are the breath of life to us

Our beloved Libya

You are the land of the free and the home of the brave

If Allah wishes

That is all coming. No doubt!

LONG LIVE LIBYA

I like to take from all poetry, whatever the message (political, religeous,
revolutionary) any signs of poetic structure. This poem has sound, and
directional poetic structure. I enjoyed it's honesty...thanks for sharing.
