Musings

A Poem by R. Oxley
"

Ars poetica, from the point of view of the speaker calling to their reader, or from the point of view of the inspiration calling to the writer

"

Daydream awhile

I will weave new memories

to the tune of old love

all but forgotten

Here distance and time are thin

shadows

Here a catalpa baptizes us in white-moment blooms

Maybe I was there once

on your side of forever

visiting

leaving fingerprint clues to lead you here

Maybe we are adrift

You have forgotten the path here

I lost my way there but I am not gone yet

still burning signal fires

building lighthouses

setting off flares and fireworks

shooting blanks

playing with pyrotechnics

firing cannons

lighting candles and lanterns to guide you here

I am waiting

Come home.
