Were Did I Go?

Were Did I Go?

A Poem by Petals & Pearls

Whatever happened to that little girl? that one that used to laugh
That one who used to play with toys while taking her bubble bath
That one who used to smile and drink cocoa by the fire
That one who was taught by daddy how to jack and change a tire

That one who love to eat cherries on the porch in her jumper
That one who used to help her mommy fix the food for supper
That one who used to run and play through the garden hose
That one who used to walk around in her mommy's clothes

What ever happened to that little girl? That one I used to be
That one who used to sing and dance and prance around in glee
All I'm left with now is a broken heart, home and dreams
And every night another star grows dim and black it seems

I want to reclaim my life and live as if I'm dying
I've spent too many nights alone in bed and crying
I want to reclaim my youth and be that girl I used to be
But that door was locked long ago and I'm afraid I've lost the key
