as lights burn low

as lights burn low

A Chapter by PianoandPage

as lights burn low
and winter heaves january
with snow sunken shoulders
towards warmer days

i lay in wond'rous repose.

it is as if the long bitter chill
left crisping my ribcage is in
thaw

my senses awe at your open delight.

i take your hand in mine
as we climb into wonderland.
