My Brother is a Titan

Brandon walked down the street, looking. For who? His twin sister and teammate, Camille. (A.K.A. Cam) She was always wandering off when her big brother wasn’t looking. This happened in every town they visited. And this was Evansburg, one of the biggest villages in the country. That made finding Cam twice as hard as it was before. The only reason they were here in the first place was because there had been multiple titan sightings around, and the T.E.O. (the Titan Elimination Organization) wanted them to check it out. They both worked for the T.E.O., and it was Brandon and Cam’s job as scouts to check for titans in each village and report back to the T.E.O. HQ, The Hub. There, if Cam or Brandon reported a titan sighting, they could send out troops to eliminate it or capture it. Usually they eliminated it, but sometimes they took it back to The Hub for inspection and analysis. Titans were still a mystery. Since they had oppressed citizens for over 20 years, you would think that the T.E.O. would have figured out what the 40 foot tall energy beings were made of by now. But, it was still a puzzle that they had yet to solve.

Brandon continued his search for Cam. “Cam! Cam! Camille Miller, get over here right now!” A head full of long, curly black hair popped out from behind a building.
“You know I don’t like it when you use my real name, bro.” Cam said.
“Well, it’s the only way to get your attention sis.” Brandon replied. He crossed his arms. “Were not here to go window shopping; we have a mission, remember?”
“Yeah I know.” Cam said in an annoyed tone. She went over to her brother and put her hand on her hip. “Why does he have to think he’s in charge? Just because I’m three minutes younger than him doesn’t mean he can control me. 16 year old brothers are such a pain.” She thought.

They were just about to go to the village wall when a loud bell started ringing. “Titan! Titan!” someone yelled. Cam and Brandon looked at each other, then raced for the village gate.
“You keep going; I’ll radio The Hub.” Brandon said. Cam nodded and continued running. Brandon stopped and pulled his walkie-talkie out from his belt. “Hub, this is Scout Team Miller. We have one titan alert, over.” A distorted voice answered,
“Copy that Miller. Sending one T.E. squadron to your location, over.” Cam said into her own walkie-talkie,
“Uh, make that three, Hub. There are two titans here, and they look pretty angry.” Brandon said,
“Stay off this channel, sis!” She replied,
“Okay okay, fine. Sheesh. Just get over here… These big guys aren’t gonna stay here for long.” Brandon answered,
“On my way.” He put his walkie-talkie back on his belt, and headed for the gate where Cam was.

When Brandon got there, he headed up one of the towers, and saw Cam shooting at a titan with her favorite weapon, her mini crossbow. He had objected when she got it, saying the weapon was too low tech for a scout. But she persisted, and Brandon finally agreed. He pulled out his toxic dart gun and started shooting at the other titan. He said, “Are you using your toxic arrows Cam?” She nodded. Since they didn’t have that much firepower, being scouts, using their darts was the most affective way of sedating a titan. Usually. But, it wouldn’t be long before they ran out, and they would have to go face to face with them. Brandon always dreaded when they had to do that. He didn’t admit it to anyone, but he was kind of afraid of titans. He was fine when he was just shooting at them, but when he had to take out his energy sword and start slicing, he started to have doubts. Sometimes he thought about quitting the T. E. O. and doing something else, but decided against it, for Cam’s sake. If he quit, she would be alone in Scout Team Miller.

When Cam finally ran out of arrows, she got out her energy sword and jumped onto the nearest titan. It was kind of ironic. It was green; Cam’s favorite color. Brandon gulped down his fear, and took a giant leap towards the other titan. He unsheathed his own energy sword and started slicing at it’s shoulder. He ran up and down it’s torso, cutting and chopping until he could chop no more. The titan finally realized what the pain in it’s shoulder was and flicked Brandon off. He flew threw the air, and landed hard on the ground next to a birch tree. He immediately got knocked unconscious. “Brandon!” Cam screamed. She turned and looked her titan in the eye. “Okay mister. You and your buddy are gonna pay for that! Dearly!” She tore into her titan with a vengeance, and it yelled with pain. She stabbed it in the eyes, nostrils, and ears, all while screeching insults and looking at Brandon, worrying if he he was going to be alright. He had never taken a fall that large before. She looked away for a bit, to concentrate on hitting the energy beast. When she looked back, Brandon wasn’t there! Instead of her twin brother, there was a purple titan! It attacked the titan Brandon had, and it was on the ground in no time. “Is... is that titan fighting for us? But, it wasn’t here a second ago…” There was something about it that seemed familiar to Cam… the fighting style… the face… “Brandon…?” Cam said, flabbergasted. Cam’s titan suddenly jerked his shoulder to the side, putting Cam off balance and making her fall off the titan. She screamed, and Brandon the titan looked at her. He jumped forward and caught her before she hit the ground. Brandon set her down gently on the grass, and quickly leveled the remaining titan. Cam was still too stunned to speak. Brandon the titan walked over to Cam and said,
“I am Zandu, your brother Brandon’s… for lack of a better term, alter-ego. Do not be alarmed. Brandon is safe. Soon, Brandon will learn to control when I show myself. I must go now. He is starting to wake up”. Zandu waved, and fell to the ground with a thud. Suddenly, in a flash of light, he vanished, and her Brandon was lying in front of her, groaning.
“Uh, oh man. What happened? I fell off the titan, and then… I don’t remember.” He said. He repeated, “What happened?” Cam laughed and helped him up.
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.” Brandon groaned again and said weakly,
“Try me.” Cam helped him walk into the village and said,
“Okay, but let’s just keep this between us, right?” Brandon nodded, and Cam started to tell the whole story, just as T. E. O. choppers arrived and bagged the titans.

The End!
(For now)
