Into The City

Into The City

A Poem by RaindropsRoses93

And we sat there for hours.

               In the circle of hatred.

In the sea filled with love.

               We stared at ourselves.

                  Questioning what we've become.

The paleness of sorrow was all we could find.

In the city of sadness lurks the hope for new life.

But the dreams below us have grip of our lives

We sit in a circle.

Not a thought in our minds.

Because in the city of sadness, no one is fine.

Oh....this is how i felt living in DC and going to gang-infested neighborhoods and Schools. ......it felt like NO HOPE at all...... my only hope was getting into college and far away,,,,,,which was the only way to self-reflect. Patience is the key. .... great piece
