Being as an Ocean

Being as an Ocean

A Poem by Nicholas Antonio Young
"

This is about letting go, a theme I seem to have been focusing a lot on

"

I can't stop the ocean

The waves will always be in motion

The moon upholds the tides of life

Pushing and pulling, the currents of time

The sun shines so brightly in our sky

But it goes where it will, so none miss its light

These are the things we can't control

The things we need to let go

Everything in life will constantly grow

And eventually life gets tired and old

It will wither away and decay

But be reborn when new life takes its place

We think it's pointless, that nothing comes from death

But when one thing dies, another takes its first breath

So there's no shame to accept and move on

We are like the waves of the ocean, the ripples in the pond

So trust in the waves and let them carry you

There is such untapped power in all of us

But over many things in life, we are powerless

For power is not meant to force and break things into place

But to learn, guide and show others grace

I have found my home, I have found my light

I have learned to love and not fight

Thank you dear ocean blue

All because of you

I can say I grew

I have been shown

And I know

What it takes to let go
