Silence

Silence

A Poem by Ranger Kessel

Your fragrance of silence lives in me.

Tattooed to my being.

I wish I heard longing in your pen.

Do you remember? Its invasion.

At the park. On a swing.

Gum chewing and popsicles.

Hop sketch and tag.

Blue jean shorts and flip flops.

Holding hands and kissing.

Dreams of apocalypse in the clouds.

Throwing stones and magpies.

Nothing of each other.

As one. Together.

In peace. Forever in silence.

I remember.

I am still there.

You've epitomized most of the relationships we've all had at some point in our lives. It was like rewinding to a better time, a time that seems so very, very far away. At least for a few minutes, we can relive it. Here.

I am reminded of my high school girlfriend...we were like one...in peace, in silence....
some days I am still there...in what I remember...but time and circumstances...
caused us to grow away from each other....although there have been some reconnoitering
and it has been pleasant.
nicely done, Ranger,
j.

Thank you for the read and review
You picture yourself standing there with your loved one, enjoying life together....as she was busy penning her thoughts; but then together you did some crazy fun things....which you remember very clearly and want to still see in your mind's eye. Lovely.
Best, B
