A Poem by Ranger Kessel

For me there was nothing but the curl of your hair. The way it flopped around anxiously across your forehead. A blonde crescent moon rising and setting across your forehead

I didn't listen.

You told me you didn't love me.

My lips were in paralysis.

I couldn't find them in this jagged miasma

I stuttered and said I know.

I didn't.
.
Understand how this could be.

Mental snapshots of you scurry around my heart aimlessly looking for home. A blanket in a storm.

My flag for you is tattered and worn.

Fighting the tide and making my way home.

My lips were in paralysis
I couldn’t find them in this jagged miasma

Loved that so true
Like we are stunned mullets
In shock
It’s happened to me a few times
Well done loved it !

A tattered and torn relationship. The flag is in a sorry state, flying at half mast. A poignant write Ranger.

Nice write. I especially like the first stanza and the blonde curl crescent moon.

you surrendered you heart to her...and now that flag is simply a tattered and worn wreck...like your heart.
I like the line of the lips being in paralysis.
I like the entire poem...It is certainly and interesting, if not jagged, miasma.
