Lost Somewhere I don't know the way!

Thirteen years passed,

As I grow,

I look at me,

From what I was,

What I have become,

All the smiles fake,

Dimples dying down,

The glint in my eyes gone,

My hands shiver everyday, 

With an unknown fear,

A pale looking me,

With no happiness,

Filled with greed and hatred,

I am no more the innocent I knew,

Who got angry at little things,

Who cried at the silliest of things,

Who laughed for the smallest of things,

For whom the moments of love are what mattered,

I know somewhere,

Looking at the golden cup of winner,

I have lost the golden me...

Maybe this is what I cry for! Most of them lose themselves as they grow up. I remember reading a t-shirt in one of Ipl ad for starsports.com. It read 'Don't grow up! It's a trap'I used to laugh at it. But how true is it, you lose yourself as you grow. Maybe I have lost myself and I hope I rediscover myself one day!

The ever evolving state of youth captured through the eyes of youth, observing the harsh facts of life. Bravo! This was a great topic coming from a person of your age, it is easy to relate to by most of us who can remember the harsh realities faced by growing older.
Personal note: Every day we all change a little because of the things we experience that day and over time we do become a completely different person. But it is up to you in how you let it change you, an example, some people live in the past in an effort to stay forever young. I will tell you that growing old is not as bad as people say, it may seem bad at the time but someday you to will look back on your like and see it differently.

A moving piece and I feel deep sadness for the sufferer to see ageing as such a burden. Maybe I too will feel this way someday. Beautifully written nonetheless. x

Thanks! I don't hate growing but the battles- neither do I hate them! But, its just that I need to fight everyday in me! It's like I hate myself at times and also love myself so much!

Yeah! That's what writing is! Peace! It's like I was too good at studies, a year or two back and as I grew I loved writing and my passion for it increased so much that I am sacrificing my study hours for it and I am losing there! And my parents, teachers, family who know I am a good student urge me for it while my heart remains here in writing and I can't stop myself from it!
I hope so that I find it!

I think growing up can be a challenge because you do tend to lose that innocence but its not necessary, I think its so important to keep that child part of you while still knowing how to be an adult where it matters. Its a hard balance to find but it is possible. Nice work!

i read somewhere that those days of scratched and broken knees were better than the broken hearts of adulthood. i completely agree with what you want to express in these lines. as we grow up into adulthood we lose the essence of innocence that we have as a sweet nector in our childhoods. alas! the ultimate cry of the poet for bringing back those days of carefree life can be absolutely understood! thanks for the poem.

Thank you so much! Agree, those days of my life were best and I still believe there are bits of it in my teenage life, but maybe that will fade away, but that bit of innocence will still remain in my heart, open to only me! And I hope my innocence won't get lost! I remember my chief saying, 'Until your innocent the whole world will like you, but once you pretend to be smart everything is lost.' True.
