Dreaded Dreams

This came about because of the disturbing dreams that have been haunting me for several months...

 

It creeps and crawls,

Stalks and sways,

Hoovers and hides,

Leaps and lays...

 

It jumps and jabs,

Rips and rapes,

Guts and grabs,

Hits and hates...

 

My heartbeat speeds

I taste my fear

I cannot see

But it is near

 

There’s no escape

From this fright

It stalks my dreams

It owns my night

 

My eyes draw open

The dread sinks deep

For it comes again

In my next sleep
