Soul Suicide

Soul Suicide

A Poem by Ratnroll

My soul squirms
Naked and bare before you,
Your leeching, probing eyes
Pierce my skin
My humanness is left exposed,
Weak and scarred
All armour wiped away.

You claim you're my protector,
My watchman, my shield,
But the layers of pain
Lay scattered at your feet,
Slaves to the hands that tore them.

How will this soul survive?

My strength and will depleted,
The fight in me is lost -
And with one heavy breath,
Your will is done
My soul succumbs
Leaving behind
A broken bag of bones
At your feet.
