The Birth Of Words

The Birth Of Words

A Poem by Raven Malak
"

A feeling I had.

"

It’s too late to change
My life is already dying
I’m so sad and confused
And my heart is crying

I’m in so much pain
I’m against a wall
I’m addicted to the feeling
Of not feeling at all

Words don’t reach my mouth
Its words which scar my brain
Words so damaging
Intended to leave a stain

I’m wretched and useless
And confused inside my head
You’re the cause of my bleeding
It’s the words you said

You love to hurt
And don’t regret what you say
I hate our diseased connection
Can’t wait to go away

We are all dying from the moment we are born. we can not let others; either their words or actions, define our own personalities. One also may not depend upon another for their happiness. It is a certain road to failure and misery. True happiness and self-worth as well as self respect must come from within. One must depend upon one's self to define one's personality and not be a whining puppet on a string. There is such a weakness and lack of character (even bad character) in society today that half the lot seem like sniveling cowards crying, "Oh, pity me, life is so hard." Well, there is no monopoly on pain and everyone suffers. The only difference is how we react to the trials and burdens of life. Do we throw a pity party or do we roll up our sleeves and set to work to improve our situation? This is sad, not because of the content but because of the worthless feeling that propagated it.

Wow. Very deep poem and very well written.
Easy to read and even easier to relate to.
I loved it.

This is the kind of poetry that joins the writer and reader by a heart-string. Good job.

Excellent lines.

Well written and feelings I relate to.

Others don't know how much damage they cause with just a word.

Thanks for entering my contest and good luck.

Oh, it is so true.. when one falls into depression, they relish in it. it becomes a comfortable state. it's all they know.

Truly a dark piece, nothing more nothing less. The pain in these words are forever there
