A Poem by Heather Christine

I'll hide within myself
Feelings tucked away on a shelf.
I feel this way,
Somehow I don't know what to say.

I'll say, "I love you."
But never admit I'm IN love.
I want to rip this out,
I want to stand and shout.

Can't they disappear?
These feelings I fear...
Why not learn from MY past?
Because time slithers on fast?

Will YOU take what's left of my heart?
Can YOU turn the ashes into art?
Should I trust YOU to take care of me?
Would anyone else agree?

I say, "I love you"...
And... It's true.
Just... don't break me.
I KNOW what YOU can be.
