Reluctance

Reluctance

A Poem by R.Inc$

I want to reluctantly and with uncertainty hold you, caress you.

With shaky and unstable hands I want to keep your heart in my grasp.

Though my voice is as loud as a muffled whisper I want to speak bittersweet nothings into your ear.

I want to fearfully confess my feelings, airing out my regrets for life cannot reset.

I want to reluctantly and with uncertainty hold your hands and kiss your lips.

I want to make futile attempts at being a person to be missed.

With shaky and unstable hands, I want to shape a fate and future with you by my side.

A fate and future with nothing left to hide.

For darkness has been my prior companion for far too long.

Though my voice is as loud as a muffled whisper let me sing you this song.

A song of all the world's wrongs done towards my meager existence.

My lack of resistance has been my crutch even if it doesn't support much.

I want to reluctantly and with uncertainty tell you that I love you, and I'm sorry for ever writing goodbye.

Will you accept the apologies from this wobbly frame?

I promise to become stronger for I cannot become any weaker.

Vulnerable to naive fools with foolish dreams in their eyes, eyes I've yet to see.

Yet their innocence can spark confidence, and confident is what I want to be.

I'll bite my tongue now to stop the ramblings.

And let my actions assume the duties of making these things happen.

very beautiful! Inspires me to try to better my flow of words when I make a feeble attempt at poetry.
