Cheap

Cheap

A Poem by ReaThoughts

Estranged from your heart

Mine now travels alone

But then again

Perhaps with you it always has

Together we were strong

Happy and in love

Until we had the argument

About that job in San Diego

Where you told me love is cheap

And you can find it anywhere

Now you’re with another girl

Who wants to move to San Diego

She dreams of being an actress

With bright eyes and an alluring smile

You’re words infected my mind

Leaving me with jaded sentiments

This new girl that you’re dating

Is her love cheap like mine?

There is a boy sitting next to me

Who smells of lavender soap

He wants to travel the world

With a journal to record his thoughts

I can tell his love is expensive

And I’m willing to pay the price

Now this was a nice poem. I think a lot of people would really connect with it, and the part at the end just explains how fleeting young love can be rather succinctly. I like how the poem reads and flows, it's uneven and feels like someone's thoughts. Overall a pretty good poem :) Thanks for sharing.
