The Sad Affair

The Sad Affair

A Poem by Becky
"

There really wasn't anything that inspired me here. The words just flowed out.

"
Starry skies and Dragonflies
Cool night air and a sparkling
stare.
Love in the spring flowers
that the rains bring
Holding hands while walking
the beach sands
Sun sinking below the
horizon, falling apart for
little reason
Hands that softly caress.
lips that make my thoughts
a jumbled mess.
Whispers of loving words in a
deep sensual noise.
Leaving my heart to dream it has
little choice.
We must leave each other soon, a
thought I can not bear.
For the fear of not seeing him
again makes my heart tear
A tear rolls down my
cheek.
He smiles sadly and says
ado til next week.
Our hands fall apart we
leave each other with heavy
hearts.
Our secret hangs in the air.
No one knows of our sad affair.
We wish we could change
our arrangement, but we are both
in agreement.
Our love is born of secret
passion and lies.
So sadly there could never
be any real ties.
