A Poem by Skyla

real love is not pain,
it's not angry tears like rain
nor is it long, hot nights
or cold, short fights
it's not obsession, or fear
it's not anxiety when they're near
not mania or heartbreak
or a dull, hollow ache
it used to be waiting,
on and off dating
a feeling too dark, too tight,
a tired coquet that never felt right
real love is pleasure,
it's calm, at your leisure
warm beds and cold feet
another steady heart beat
loud laughter with warm tears
the cleansing of months worth's of fears
patient words and patient endings
with spoken band-aids for mending
it's beauty and silky romances
secret kisses and stolen glances
it's synonyms for happiness and love
the perfect match, who fits like a glove
it's everything I've ever gone through
but most of all, it's you
