Turmoil

Turmoil

A Poem by RedWinterSkies

Bellowing roars shake the earth and travel miles through the sky.
There’s fire, smoke. In the midst of it, shadow, more flames.
The night skies are heavy with dark smoke shrouding the moons and stars, and the wind carries the smell of charred wood and earth.
An ancient forest is aflame, lit with violent oranges and reds.
An old battlefield, in the pit of a crater below a great cliff.
What could have regrown was now being reduced to ashes, again.
Two figures stood atop the cliff, watching, waiting... For the rage to end. For the fury to die down. For the flames to cease. The fighting to stop...
