Take Everything

Take Everything

A Poem by Tim Lawless

Take everything.

Take the lust.

Take the so-called love.

Take the self-righteousness.

I hear the call.

But these burdens have no place under You.

And if I know anything,

It's that I can never be the same,

Having heard Your voice calling me.

So take everything I have.

And take what You need.

Make me who You want me to be.

Beautiful man, very uplifting to me. It's help to the problems I have going on in my mind about my walk.

I really like it.

I LOVE the first stanza

Take everything.

Take the lust.

Take the so-called love.

Take the self-righteousness.
Romans 7:5, 6
5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. 6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

Tim, you amaze me. More than I could ever explain.
This is wonderful. And thank you for posting it. Because it makes me think about how/who I want to be for Him as well...
I dunno.
This poem is just pretty much fantastic, and I adore it/you.

It's the constant struggle, one to be dealt with day after day. This is very raw, and I picture you mentally on your knees handing it all over, admitting defeat while performing something so strong. On a personal note, I find this call harder and harder to ignore, yet I still have a hard time handing it all over.
