Acid

Acid

A Poem by Reddog19

Everyday the pit in my stomach grows,

Letting what feelings I have left

To broil slowly in its acid.

Wasting away the walls that hold it.

With immense force,

The acidic mixture bursts towards the world,

Scalding all in its path with it's chemicals

And its burning rage.

Screams of horror erupt from the crowd below,

And the world shivers with its power.

The liquid rears and rides forth,

Setting destruction upon the city.

It washes over the skylines,

Through the streets and boulevards.

It flees from its home, the pit,

Taking the path of forward movement.

Tipping monuments and downing lines,

The beast takes its ground.

And before the sun sets,

Everything shall be its kingdom.

It meanders along the roads,

Seeming to hunger for the blood of people,

And makes its way to the crystal sea,

Where it melts into its waters.

Wasting away,

Just like the walls.

Now it knows how it feels

To be a part of life's great cycle,

To begin where there was no end.
