One Sided Love

One Sided Love

A Poem by Sarah Rayne

Slip into the darkness

As the blood spills

My body becomes numb

As I slowly leave this world

Its okay darling, you don’t have to cry

Nobody will miss me

And if they say they do, then it’s a lie

Nobody knew the pain I had to go through

Each day my depression got a little steeper

And each day the cuts got a little deeper

You never loved me the way I loved you

Nobody cared or noticed how depressed I became

Every day was filled with hate, disappointment, and betrayal

I couldn’t take it anymore

So I slit my wrists and wrote in blood

You never noticed but you broke my wings long ago

It reminds me of the crowded room. Where we stand right in the middle, waving our arms back and forth to try and get someone to see that we are there...Yet... the people take no notice and even though we are surrounded by others, we still feel alone.

A sad tale, bringing a reminder that everyone needs a friends and shoulder to heal upon.

Thanks for sharing,
Aaron

It is a good write, but at the same time, very sad. I know, from experience, that it can be easier to write sad poems than happy. It's just naturally a lot easier. So, I understand where you're coming from. Write what's on your heart, and when you do, everyone can relate. Because you aren't trying to come up with a poem that will make everyone happy, you're writing from your heart, and everyone will feel the words. Keep doing that. Keep writing from your heart, because this, definitely is.

This speaks to me of emotional suicide. I say this for the simple fact that you're obviously - still alive.

Good write...
