What they didn't do

What they didn't do

A Poem by Reeses
"

Basically describing how being taken for granted makes one better appreciative of when someone really cares. . .

"

As I look at you. . .

I'm reminded of all the things they didn't do

I remember when I loved alone and loved invain

I recall only desiring to live without being sane

I can't stop looking at you. . .

I'm constantly reminded of what they didn't do

I felt lyke maybe I was the one to blame

I loved them so much I barely remember their names

Leaving my heart ripped and blood-stained

Snaking out at me lyke a lion chained

I wish you could see me looking at you. . .

You seem to always remind me of what they didn't do

You show me that I'm okay just being me

Your smile, your laugh; close to you is where I wanna be

You won't stop reminding me of what they didn't do. . .

So I will keep waiting for you to do something new

This is great.

I can truly understand. When you have someone new in your life that actually does the right things, it's sometimes torturous. Because instead of enjoying the present, you relive the past. It's the funny thing about human beings. We want so much good, but when good comes, we sometimes don't take it in 100% because we're stuck in our past hurts.

This will be a favorite.

What he didn't do is someting you always do
i look in your eyes
and it reminds me of whats true
a love with you is something i wish to explore
and it's kind of difficult with the past at my front door
but my feelings for you is something i can't ignore
And i realize i don't love my past anymore...

lol. Your poem, reminds me of what i had before and what i have now. Before i had dudes that had my heart, but i didn't have theirs. I'd say i love them, and they'd return blank stares...but now i have something that makes me glad that i had my past. Because without my past i would've never grown into the person i am. A million dudes who did me wrong taught me to find a man that will do me right. And that's the message i got out of your poem. I liked this poem alot.

I really like this. I think that your work is very good, and doesn't need any "aces up the sleeve" stuff like intentional misspellings. But I totally understand that it's your style, it's what you do. And I reallly like your work. Keep it up, darling!

How sad we can't blend the best of everyone that had an ideal trait into one perfect love. So this poem makes me think how you long for the new love while yearning for that best of the old love...the partthat has you in knots. Keep writing your truths as you feel them.
