Happy Thoughts

Happy Thoughts

A Poem by Reeses
"

Evolution

"

I'm trying to think happy thoughts

I'm attempting to be who I once was before I met you

Before I loved the way you smiled at me and the things you do

Practicing what I preach but ignoring what I was taught

I wake up to a cell phone and never see your name in missed alerts

Then I let go and try to be happy

Yet emotions trap me

Sometymes it hurts but. . . . yea it hurts

Then i become rebelliously insane

I don't fight what I feel; I embrace the pain

I cry and then I laugh at what you've done

I'm such a loser when I admit that you've won

I start yelling at the top of my hype

I CAN'T HATE YOU UNLESS I TYPE

I CAN'T KILL YOU UNLESS ITS EMOTIONALLY

Then I calm down happily

I think of pain and loss

But I'm happy that I was able to pay the cost

FROM A WOMAN VEIW POINT TO TAKE IT LIKE A MAN. I SEE ALOT OF THINGS HERE THAT ARE NOT FINISH. U HAVE JUST LEARN THAT THIS IS U AND NOBODY CAN REALLY TAKE FROM U THAT YOU HAVEN`T GIVEN ALREADY. THERE IS ONLY ONE WHO COMES FIRST . LOOK IN THE MIRROR. PAIN WILL ALWAYS GO AWAY. CAUSE U CAN MAKE YOURSELF HAPPY. I LOVE THE POEM.

I liked it. Raw and stripped of fabrications, very real and pulled me in. I know exactly how you feel, it reminds me of my ex and I.

my fav part:

Then i become rebelliously insane

I don't fight what I feel; I embrace the pain

( i felt the same way too. good job!)

Being able to pay the cost, finding that strength in yourself, telling yourself you know what you truly lost...something that you felt in the long run was not for you. Yes, you were strong to get out but your weakness shows in the tears you still shed for that part of you that you lost to him. Finding that soldier in yourself is much in evidence here...you show your emotional bond, the part that still thinks of him, yet still how you wish to fight those memories that haunt you. What side wins? You still battle within.-----You wrote a confusion many people feel. Take care.

Wonderful! This is truly beautiful. I love how you portray the futility in fighting the pain, and accept it to the degree of being glad it happened.

See great minds think like me lol, and you. It's good when you use poetry or writing as a way to express your pain, and all other emotions. This was a great way to express how you express, very creative.

That's a mature way to deal. Embrace the feelings and be happy for having once having them and accepting they they are gone.
