Seed

Germinate Love

Seed

Through common knowledge, love can be fleeting.......... yet might endure,
We crave it…., need it……., desire the emotion it lures.
So some try to make things work,
For comfort……, for stability……., for the aforementioned perk!

And so, they truly do not survive,
Like a dormant seed, they cannot thrive.

Many say, that a seed can only germinate in a given time,
Given the right conditions and love to prime.

Yet some say, an old seed dies,
Unfavorable conditions, resting quietly beneath the grime.
But more recent research has proven this untrue,
That even an ancient seed can sprout through.

And that ancient germinating seed,
Resting in a fine layer of peat.
Will grow into an amazing botanical wonder,
Depending on the conditions it’s placed under.

Although, at first glance,
An experienced planter….. might not chance,
Take the time to water an old seed,
For fear that her efforts, would only germinate a weed.

But if she dares…… take that chance,
And plants that seed, grounded in her stance,
That seed might produce a plant of its own,
Overflowing with seeds….made from it’s flowery cone.
