Reluctant Sunset

A Poem by Roberta Weth

The sun stretches out

Clawing at the cool, blue clouds

Straining to be seen

The sunset often is the birth of something new and ending of something tragically only a few hours old. I do enjoy your piece of poetry seeing that it provides a brillant piece of wisdom. I find it simple and to the point for this piece of poem about a simple sunset which makes more an even more profound statment.

You make the sun sound very cat-like, at least that's what I imagined when I read this. A cat stretching out with its tail in the air and its claws foreward clawing at the earth before finally relaxing and then laying down for the night. Beautiful imagery.
