Infinity

A Poem by Roberta Weth
"

another piece from my older stuff that I found whilst trying to restore my account. I always liked this one; and I believe I wrote it in the 10th grade.

"

Eternity beckons
Dark, calm and inviting

Oblivion calls my name

Red dwarfs burn
Spinning orbs in the dark

Every star blazes in
Absolute superiority
Knowing its purpose
Of unbalance

If I moved one atom
Then they would explode
Then draw everything
Around into their depths

A droning voice
Echoes in the void

My science teacher
Yanks me back
To this pathetic war

On Religion
The Scientists try to explain
What the believers know

Can't they see?
They're on the same side
In the campaign on
The endless quagmire of
Ignorance

Instead they both follow
Mindless texts from
Long ago when
This war began with one word

Why?
