TILES

linoleum plaques
a mystery intact for all to see
pasted on city asphalt
under Trident Maple trees
conspiracy theories
or unknown mysteries to show
a trail so cold straight down
a rabbit hole

diction,
in forms of science fiction
it's agreed, each message substandard
to educational pedigree, mentally
scholars are collared by it's addiction
enmity for it's complexity

spewing propaganda or truths
a mystery in it's roots
the jester is hard at play
look down and survey
another put down
near a roadside cafe

and the questions still grow.

Author's Note

The Toynbee tiles are a mystery, they are in all major cities placed on roadways, city asphalt. They have messages that at times are obscure and vague, but also political in nature. Here's a link to learn more.
