Poem I wrote for my dad

The king in his castle

And all seems well

The flowers are blooming

The people are laughing

And the king is happy

Because all seems well

 

The king in his castle

It’s getting dark

Trees are falling

Houses are burning

And people are crying

It’s getting dark

 

The king in his castle

Hiding from the night

Cowering in his cellar

Not fighting his wars

Because the king is scared

Hiding from the night 

 

The king in his castle

Searching for the light

He defeats the mountains

Fights his battles

He faces his fears

Because the king is fighting

Searching for the light

 

The king in his castle

Rising, strong and proud

He defeated his foes

Embraces his friends

He hugs his children

Because the brave king is rising, strong and proud

And all is well
