The Cafe

The Cafe

A Poem by Revery

There are histories here

and stories that were told

there are traces and shadows of yesterday

woven throughout photos on a wall

love and friendships wax and wane

in spite of our desire to

have them last and sustain

tomorrow pulls us here and there

as we fade away from here

some end with nasty bitter stain

memories are encased and set among dreams

I hold them dear wishing they

were all once again near

but time flows and I to

must down different roads go

The fire has burned and I'll

leave my words here like

glowing embers of my legacy
