The World

The World

A Poem by Karel
"

A poem/ song I created for my FFVII: Advent Children Fanfic. It is a Bird song and so it was translated from that language, thus it may not rhyme. For that I apologize.

"

When the World was young

the Mother placed Us here,

to guide and to nourish,

To See and to Hear.

We were Birds.

She told Us:"'Ta'ko'i, Do not be afraid of change."

We bowed before Her and spread Our wings,

Our nests claimed the trees,

Our dens carved the mountains,

The Mother was joyful,

She gave Us the Green Lights.

Then came the Shadow Light,

Darkening Our sky with decay,

The World cried out in fear,

We cowered and waited for the End,

but Mother said "NO!"

And saved Us from death.

Poison seeped into Our skins,

darkened Our flesh,

but We ignored it to tend to the World,

We loved it and it loved Us.

The Mother rained light upon Our heads,

She bathed Our feathers,

Gave Us new life,

And allowed the Dirt-Walkers to come forth,

And rule alongside Us.

We watched Them rule the Dirt Beings from the sky,

We loved Them, feared Them, and hated Them,

We came down in anger as They broke Our nests,

They rose up in hate as We burned Their homes,

The world screamed to the Mother,

and She tore Our wings from Our backs,

She stripped Us of feathers,

We walked the World looking like Them,

and She said "'Ta'ko'i, Be at peace",

And so We fell before Her and She gave Us a gift,

Forever We serve the World, loving it,

and Forever will We see its fate.
