Worldly Life

Worldly Life

A Poem by Reza Farhamand

When God created me with passion

He says, “So blessed be God, the best of the creators”

I’m a man to be called after a fashion

Am I that eminent to have such vindicators?

God wanted me to be, the best of the best

But all I made in the world was mere mess

I disappointed God and failed the test

Rebelling the world, teasing the life, causing stress

We turned against ourselves; we live as we never die

Lust and money obsessed the minds

We want to quench our thirst and go so high

A dead-end alley seems endless to blinds.
