Captive

Captive

A Poem by Reza Farhamand

In a forsaken land I reside

Deserts and dry lands all around

Nobody is here to have beside

Many times it was fear I found.

I jailed myself in me

Speechless, tired and gone

No hope is in life, I can see

Life is the story of hit and run

Tears the only gift that I have

To appease my pains with;

And to let my eyes calve

But I can’t be ceased and I writhe

The heart speaks in tear

That it’s in jail of the chest

“Release me, release me, don’t fear”

Silence, I’ve chosen, that’s the best

For, I was in the jail of mine

?How do I know the right behavior

But leaving it alone is no fine

?How a captive can be a savior
