⁓ Poetess' Avowal ⁓ (soul-wedded bliss)

A Poem by Richard🖌
"

Free Verse … dedicated to the wedded souls of a wondrously blessed Poetess and Her Poet, in my rendition of the psalm her heart must surely be singing.

"

Poetess’ Avowal ~

How was it …

that before you came into my life,

I knew so very little about

the true ways of love;

and

now my happy, spellbound heart

soars beneath your

slightest touch.

You bring me …

the inexpressible beauty

of knowing the purest of all love.

You are …

Spring flowers,

dancing firelight,

and

the flutter of love’s silken wings,

the sensual flowing fire

coursing beneath

my skin.

Oh, Love …

when first we touched

and

our souls kissed,

I knew I had found my forever

in the golden sunbeams
spark'ling

in your beautiful eyes.

’Twas then …

in wedded bliss,

two souls softly flowed

as one into the eternal bond

of an everlasting kiss.

Now …

I find myself totally lost

in the wonderfully overwhelming joy

that finds Me

loving You completely.

I love your pic choice to go with the poem. I have been a fan of A. Andrew Gonzalez' figurative art for years. I actually purchased a portfolio of his artwork years ago, with Amore included. That being said, the poem offsets it beautifully. It's as gentle as a spring breeze which lifts a butterfly on its majestic wings. Well penned!

This is a wonderful picturesque poem, indeed depicted as a true declaration of love. Though it is supposed to be free verse, I like the way you skilfully structured the stanzas, with the core message made digestible for readers.

WELL DONE!

Lucky the man, or woman, who achieves such bliss. They say that somewhere in this big, wide world, there is soul mate for everyone. then again, 'tis also said there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Nevertheless, these are beautifully wrought lines.

A beautiful celebration of all that is love from your pen Richard. So much warmth and adoration in your lines. Your third stanza brings delightful imagery of what your love means to you. Spring flowers, danding firelight and the flutter of silken things. Sensual and lovely. Free verse at its utmost best. All good wishes, first of yours I have read for a while.

i always like it when you do free verse Richard ...it makes you more human ;) and then i read you offering and find it is just as disciplined and well configured as the stodgiest of classic forms :))))))) i really like this:
"the flutter of love’s silken wings," ... i heard and felt them ... my little heart did a ca-flip .. so beautiful .. i think the enjambments and the "and" connecting V1 and V2 are simply brilliant sir ... you lead me to pause .. savor and then go back again ...very much enjoyed the "love" and subtle fire burning within .. another charmer for you sir!

ps. not to mention the art ... its got a hypnotic effect to it ..very cool!

Dear Richard,

Such an amazing tale of love written with your incomparable touch and finesse. It speaks to me, this poem, of when the stars in heaven do align, a simple spark turns to a flare of all encompassing warmth and brilliance, becoming an eternally glowing hearth for two yearning souls. Your wizardry with words as always leaves me breathless. The artwork you chose for this stunning recital is exquisite and almost surreal and one could go on gazing.

Thank you so much for sharing such beauty...
Many Regards,
