Fruits

Fruits

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
"

So much is missed when we over think things

"
Apples are not pears and
Oranges are not grapes
But the weight of uncertainty
Certainly has me bare
As there is no fruit on
My vine
Maybe in time I will find
The truth that will give me
Roots
So I can know what it
Is like to bear fruit
Still I bask in my own stupidity
As my immaturity shows that
I am inferior as I hide my
Interior beneath an exterior
That has weathered many
Storms
Although I am not a rose
I have thorns to protect me
From el oh vee e
Still I have no fruit
To bear because
Apples are not pears and
Oranges are not grapes
Yet the weight of loving
You is so damn hard that
I want to give up, give up
Give it all up cause
I can't live up, live up
To the expectations
I am not processing the
Information so the situation
Is much more complex
Than I expect so I suspect
That your intellect
Believes that leaves
Are possible on my
Tree if I believe
I can achieve and
Produce positive
Fruits
But this has
Yet to compute
Cause all I want
You to do is to
Jump in the sea
With me
So we both can
Be free

Life is not easy Rico as you are well aware The measure of a man is not how many times he gets knocked down It is whether he gets back up again. I see greatness in you a desire to be something special That is all it takes a tindered fire that smolders into a roaring flame

The rhythm is great here! Anything is possible when we believe in ourselves. Especially when we believe enough to match the inside with the outside.

Thanks Jenn for stopping through...
sometimes i think hiding our interior might feel like it is being mature, but i think when we become more open and accepting of ourselves and others....we really grow up...and the fruit will then grow on that vine.

and it will taste awfully good, as will life.

Thanks Jacob for your insights on this...your wisdom is very valuable.
Wow Rico....This is fantastic....I want to get a beat box out, and rap away! Loved the images of fruits, and how it is not really rocket science - we cannot wish for blueberries if we are a vine! However, I do think we do have power in our hands as to what we are sowing today.....heard a great quote recently in a sermon, "The words we speak today, are the seeds of the fruits we will eat tomorrow". We may be puzzled by our lack of fruit, yet we need to also look at the seeds sown, for they hold the key. :)
