LIed

LIed

A Poem by Marlice Morgan

I lied to myself again
said we would only be friends
but then I heard you say my name
and I knew my whole world was changed

I lied to myself today
I told you that I could walk away
(anytime I wanted)
But if I set one foot outside your door
I know I wont want to be in this world anymore

Cause you, you've got me wrapped around your finger
you control my whole world
Here is where my soul will always linger
I am forever your girl

Oh, I lied to myself again
Said you and me I would only be friends
OOoo but then I heard you say my name
and I knew my whole world would never be the same

Cause you, you've got me wrapped around your finger
you control my whole destiny
and here is where my soul will always linger
I am forever your girl

I lied to myself today
I said Im sorry
I said Im sorry
Im sorry I can not stay

I've been there myself. Wonderfully stated.
