Lyrics to a song written about life.

We were young we were free

we had ideas that we believed

and freedom was free

not bought through dropped bombs

we had friends that we could trust

we had love without lust

and if you search our souls

you'd find they're not for sale

Up in a tree we would a build a fort that couldn't be breached

would you believe this is how we once lived

because we weren't raised by the tv screens

we weren't led be celebrities

we made fires beneath starry skies

and we kept hope with every scar.

Now we are all just too damn busy to remember our roots

too damn busy we forgot our truths.

We had lights we didnt need

no fancy cars, no need for speed

and music still had

enough soul to mend our hearts.

We had forests and we had trees

no nightmares of concrete beast

but now you will find that all of this

we have sold
