Mother Earth and All Her Children

Mother Earth and All Her Children

A Poem by Robyn
"

Inspired by Jon Anderson, the lead singer/songwriter of the band Yes. Meeting him changed my life and opened my eyes to the serenity found only in nature..

"
The Earth and all her children cry out--
     do you hear them?

Birds sing praises of the glorious sky.
Mountains stand tall to meet the clouds up high.

The breeze gently kisses the leaves on the trees.
Flowers and Bees live in harmony.

Rain drops pour down to cleanse and renew.
The lake remains still to mirror the moon.

Blades of grass dance in the wind playfully.
Fishes swim freely in shimmering sea.

The river flows through the valley of clay.
The sun lights the path and guides our way.

All beauty comes to life when we open our mind.
Creation is singing! May their beauty, you find!

The Earth and all her children cry out--
      Now I hear them!

Anytime I see a poem about nature, life and the Earth I sit up and take notice. This is a lovely poem, with good flow and well-structured and imaginative lines, like, "The lake remains still to mirror the moon". Reminds me a lot of my own work. Excellent piece, kudos.
