A Poem by Panhead Rod
"

This is a humorous poem I wrote about a bad day of fishing, no such thing. It is from my book "Life ! ...signed on the dotted line..." © 2019

"
...
This fishing day for me was slow,
as down the shoreline I do go.
The clouds are in, the day's not bright,
It's springtime, and the waters right.
You'de think by now there'd be some fish,
I mutter to myself...a wish...
A wish that I would get a bite...
A big one tugging, all it's might...
I toss the line out one more time...
and while it sinks... I think this rhyme...
As it hits bottom, once again...
the only thing that hits is rain...
I let it set, and dream some more...
until I'm wet right to my core...
Another cast... still nothing yet...
I see the Sun now start to set...
I reel it in, and set for dock...
at least I wasn't on the clock...
Bad day fishing... no such thing...
but yes, there are those days you sing...
While driving home... I crack a smile...
There's worse ways to waste a while...
This day... did not disappoint...
I just thank God... for burger joints...
...
