Measure of Worth

Measure of Worth

A Poem by Panhead Rod
"

A piece about what we can leave behind...

"
...
One thing we all share
as we go through life...
Our bodies will die,
no matter the strife...
No difference if rich.
No difference if poor.
You can't take it with you...
That's for sure.
...
Your measure of worth...
It comes down to this...
As you lived your life...
did you create bliss?
Or did you live greedy,
hording your treasure?
Not taking in...
all of life's pleasure.
...
Demanding of others...
Hungry for power...
Or did you stop,
to enjoy a flower?
Real legacy is...
what's left behind...
Sharing life's lessons,
for future to find.
...
Giving through art,
or teaching some class.
Finding solutions...
True visions through glass.
Creating some music...
Filming a show...
or just showing manners,
to all who you know.
...
Then those who knew you...
remember you well...
Keeping your spirit
alive in their tales...
Each generation,
having strong roots...
Will reach for the Heavens...
While starting new shoots...
...
