Through Our Children's Eyes...

Through Our Children's Eyes...

A Poem by Panhead Rod
"

Just like the title says...

"
...
Looking up  into the skies,
through our lovely children's eyes...
They see magic in the air...
Pixies, Fairies... without care...
The Winter Solstice... it is here,
delivering wonder... oh so near...
Christmas is just days away...
Snow is where the children play...
Soft white snow flakes drift on down,
Children smile... never frown...
this snow, it is their playground...
Slowly falling... all around,
Flopping backwards onto it...
Snow angels form the perfect fit...
They build snowman for display...
pleasant joy for all of the day...
Wear wide smiles with finesse,
they see now, true happiness...
They vision him... as if he's real,
shake his arm limb, seal the deal.
Saying we are pleased to meet you...
Mom yells..."Now, come in, you two"...
While they were out there, having fun...
Mom and Dad got tree up and done...
Now patiently waiting for decoration...
Dad strings lights, in anticipation...
As he plugs them in for the test,
the children's eye glow... at their best
Reflecting holiday lights and cheer...
Unplugging the lights, "Get over here...
Dad says "Come and get your favorite"...
Each child grabs one, that's their fit...
As each hangs their ornaments up,
they sip hot cocoa from their cup...
Gleaming eyes from girls and boy...
Reflecting all the Spirit of joy...
...
