We left the Elephant behind

We left the Elephant behind

A Poem by Rogue

Open up the cartons
A nice new home to dwell
I know that you hate moving
But that last place was hell

The one before that?
Yes, that one was to
And oh that other..
Dude, what did we do?

Never quite fit in
Seems we never belong
Blame it on your sarcasm?
Are my opinions just too strong?

In this box the armor
Worn and dented from the use
Do you think that I can store it?
No more warring and abuse..

A final peaceful haven?
Cast a wary eye around
Atmosphere seems pleasant
The structure good and sound

A respite for the Circus freaks
The Big Top lost it's pall
Stop putting asses in the cheap seats
Deaf now to the Ring Master's call

Something diffrent from you. Something new, and something very true! I feel how close you are to these words... Ah yes, the ever present armor, it protects yes, but the echoes are strong in there, maybe that's why sarcasms and opinions might come out wrong, amplified, or out of sync? In any case, a great poem from a great writer...

You are wise as always, my friend. The armor gets weighty. But years of donning it makes it a habit... read more
This is a poem on the power of belonging whether in a relationship or to a specific place or way of life...On the spiritual level , souls keep searching for that save haven from the loss and lost ways of this world which is like a circus and a rat race in general ... The only ones that make it and be happy and content are the ones that find The One , find themselves in the scheme of things , chart their noble destiny with vigor , share their good fruit with others , love beyond the horizon , die in honor and dignity for cause and humanity...
Forgive me but that is my interpretation in this powerful write. It can have other meanings too ...

You are welcome...:)
The elephant in the room ! What an interesting correlation. I take this that it is all about attempting to restart again after a conflict in a relationship...."The structure good and sound".....basically a good relationship, need to play out another act. This is what comes to my mind anyway. Great job ! I like the rhyme factor, as I am partial to that format. Like it alot.
