Old photos of us

Old photos of us

A Poem by Roland Sivar
"

I was clearing out my room and an old photo fell out of a book I hadn't touched for a long time. Did I hide it in there, or did she? Made me remember a lot in just moment. So I hid it again.

"
I hide old photos of us
In books I know I'll read again
So in a moment of surprise
I'll remember all that was, back then.

I'll remember those flashes of memories
All the good times with friends
Those warm and trivial moments
That we never wanted to end

I'll remember the sadness on your face
And the letter you wrote
The tears in our eyes
And the lump in my throat

I'll remember the trains and the planes
And the futures futile hope
Your effortless beauty
And the poems I wrote

And I'll smile
Like I'm smiling now
I'll smile
And remember how
