Never to Leave My Lips- 2

Something I would never say to "your" face...

All the time we have been "friends",

We have been on the tipping point of being enemies.

The more that was added to our friends, the farther we drifted

To the point that we only pretended to get along

And we told others we hated on another.

But I can't understand my desperate need to 

Earn your acceptance,

To become worthy in your eyes, to become a true friend.

We have always put each other on edge 

And you don't know how many times I have said I can't stand you,

But I realize it all only a face I put on to not be hurt 

When acceptance is put off another day.

I have always hoped that it is the same for you,

That one day we could sit and talk 

And see each other as equals instead of

Opponents to earn her attention .

I really do want to be able to be honest with you,

To be your friend because I can see 

You are going through some bad things

And I wish I could help you,

But I stay back in fear of being pushed away.

But maybe, just maybe,

Writing this will change something, for the better.
