Audition

A Poem by EcstaticEuphoria
"

Can you make the cut?

"
Take a number at the door
Sit and wait your turn
Practice and practice,  and practice more
Perhaps when you are up you will have learned

What you say could get you a place
How you say it could captivate the attendee
Strike that match and ignite this space
Bring this audience to its knee

For only,  only I will decide
The role you'll play
Whether it,  whether it will be, front and center or on the curbside
Just know this,  that you might be able at last to sway

This stage that keeps my revelry
Houses my opinions, my heart
But only if,  only if you turn out to be
That one true man that can possess me, that eternal Bogart

As You Like It, Act II, Scene VII (All the world’s a stage) – William Shakespeare, 1564-1616
Extract: ‘And all the men and women merely players; they have their exits and their entrances …’

There will be many who audition for the part and many will fall short; but when the ‘right actor’ comes along – a STAR IS BORN! Great write – creatively and sincerely penned. :-)

Because you are miles away you can't see what I am doing I am smiling. All the metaphors makes sense at the end when it all comes together. A new perspective when it comes to matters of the heart well done as usual
